Who is this 3 nights 4 days Kashmir package best for?

Anyone who wants both famous meadows but would rather not change hotel twice in four days. Keeping one room means a late start costs you nothing, which matters more with children or older travellers.

Is Pahalgam worth doing as a day trip?

It is about 95 km each way, so expect five hours in the vehicle across the day. That is the trade for keeping one base. If you would rather sleep there, the touring three-night routes give Pahalgam its own night.

Pahalgam is the longest at roughly 95 km each way, around two and a half hours in each direction. Gulmarg is 50 km each way. Arrival covers about 80 km including the Mughal Gardens circuit, and departure is a 30 km run to the airport.
No. The cable car and pony rides are paid at the counter on the day, at rates set by the authorities, and running depends on snow and wind. Travel insurance, guide charges and personal expenses are also outside the quoted price.
