Visiting the
Tulip Garden in Srinagar
on the eve of the Tulip Garden festival
was one of the things that were on my bucket list for a very long time. Finally, I got a chance this year and I was soo excited to experience so many colors in one place.
The Tulip Garden is known to be Asia's largest tulip garden that consists of 1.2 million varieties of tulips. It was opened to the public back in 2007. Since then, this place receives a huge rush of visitors during the
Tulip Garden festival
. The
best time to visit Tulip Garden
is from ending March to ending April. However the
opening dates of Tulip Garden
for the
Tulip Garden festival are not settled forever, the dates may vary from year to year.
I visited the Tulip Garden with some of my friends who were as excited as I was. We stepped into the garden at almost 11:30 am. The sun was blazing at its best, as this was the early time of the spring. As soon as we stepped into the garden, we were asked to purchase a ticket, that cost 50 rupees. There were only a few visitors inside the garden. Some were busy with relaxing the mind, some were busy with photography, and some of them were trying to get their minds back from the amazement after seeing the picturesque.
As we started moving forward, my jaw dropped, for I was surrounded by the numerous flower beds. This was the beginning of the Tulip Garden festival and at this moment I got a little confused about whether I was in heaven or still on this earth. The picturesque of the garden was amazing. On the upper left side, I got to see the magnificent view of Parimahal and on the other hand, there was standing the huge garden of Chashmashahi. The half garden has got a view of Dal Lake. Nishat garden is on another side. The place has got its perfect place, as I was feeling that I was roaming in the gardens of heaven.
By this time, it was 2:00 pm and we did not realize as we were still taking a walk around the garden. I got to see one unique thing in the alluring garden of tulips and that was the Black Tulip, which is known as the “Queen of the Night” tulip. That flower was demanding separate attention. There were so many colors of the tulips like purple, pink, yellow, red, white, green, orange, blue, light shades of different colors, and there were so many varieties of flowers that also caught the eyes.
To add more beauty to the garden there are also some rows of Pansies and Roses, that work as the icing on the cake. Our eyes were filled with the colors. This place was full of colors and the garden was carpeted with green grass.
I was feeling tired after the noon passed, but believe me, my eyes were still stuck on the view of the garden. The garden was booked with visitors from all over the world. I am sure everyone there was spending their best time with the loved ones. The garden provided picture-perfect views. We did a great photoshoot there. It was a mind-blowing experience that one could ever have.
By the evening we started packing up, the fresh breeze that was blowing through the hills soothed my mind and take all the tiredness away. The dawn was so beautiful that we could not help ourselves from capturing some more memorable moments.
As we were traveling back to our place, my mind and heart were still there. I was feeling so satisfied for the first time in my life after enjoying the true face of nature.
I would suggest everyone visit here at least once in a lifetime. A
family trip to Tulip Garden
will be the best moments to cherish for the lifetime. This could be the best experience for every visitor. This place literally gives the feel of heaven.
