Srinagar, being the largest district of Jammu and Kashmir is popular for the beautiful Mughal gardens and mesmerizing lakes that flow through the different areas of the valley. Srinagar is also known as the city of lakes.

Dal lake
is the second largest Lake in the valley. It is the most popular one among all the Lakes in Srinagar
. The lake is so beautiful with the huge snow-clad mountains around. To add more beauty to the lake, houseboats, and Shikaara are the prime attractions for the visitors. Staying overnight at the houseboat gives you a heavenly feeling. The shikaara ride at the time of sunset leaves you in a jaw-drop moment. The surroundings around the lake look so mesmerizing with the golden lights of the sun.
Wular Lake
is the largest freshwater Lake in Srinagar and India. The lake also has ruins of the island from the times of the King Sultan-ul-Aabideen, which is a popular tourist attraction here. Apart from the lake, this place becomes a prime attraction for the bird-watchers.
Nigeen Lake
is situated adjacent to the hillock of the Hari-Parbat Fort. It is sometimes considered a part of the magnificent Dal Lake. The two are connected through a small slit. It is also connected to Khushal Sar and Gil Sar that are connected via Amir Khan Nallah Channel. Nigeen Lake is one of the

Manasbal Lake
is another lake, that is located actually not in Srinagar city but in the outskirts of Srinagar. It is situated in the Gandarbal area. It is one of the serene Lakes in Srinagar, where few people visit. There is no way to stay there for the night but you can enjoy your full day there. The lake is surrounded by beautiful mountains and green lush woods which are so mesmerizing to look at.
