is located near the
Gulmarg
area. This shrine belongs to a Sufi saint Baba Payam Din. He died at this place in 1480 after spending so many years in prayer and meditation, the old saint died here and followers made
Baba Reshi Shrine in his remembrance.
Thousands all over the valley came here to please God, they pray here. On the birth date of Baba Payam Din, a religious congregation or Urs is celebrated. Devotees came here with a great belief, for they believe that their wishes would be granted here.
Not only Muslims but people from every religion came here to meet their beliefs. Baba Reshi Shrine has one grave inside on which a sheet of cloth that is well decorated with work of various workmanship. The infrastructure of the shrine depicts the ancient culture of the valley, as the wooded building of the shrine has a design based on Mughal and Persian architecture.
The shrine authorities manage to provide accommodation to the visitors who come from very far and tourists who like to spend the night here. The shrine has a separate Langar system where food is served to everyone.
The best time to visit here is from March-October, as the roads remain clear during this time. Although the shrine remains open throughout the year, the roads remain closed in winter due to the heavy snowfall.
