is situated in the district of Ganderbal, north of Srinagar. The lake is at the foothills of
mountain Harmukh

Gangabal Lake is so vast and beautiful that catches the eyes of the visitors. The length of this lake is two and a half kilometers and its width is almost one kilometer.
Gangabal Lake is home to many fish species including brown trout. The lakes outflows through one another lake named Nundkol Lake and Sindh River. People who come here for trekking can make their way direct from
Naranag to Gangbal lake
. This trek is for beginners as it is only 15 km from the base-camp of Naranag.
Visitors also visit here for one full-day via Naranag and take a horse ride to reach up to the Gangbal lake and enjoy the serene beauty of the lake and surrounding.
The best time to visit here is summer as the climate remains dry throughout the day and the cool breeze coming from the mountains of the Himalayas refreshes your mind and soothes your body.
