is situated in the Gandarbal district of Kashmir Valley. It is also known as
Kalodaka lake

mount Harmukh

People visit here during
trekking to Sonamarg
that starts from the base camp of Naranag. Some visitors take a horse-ride to reach upper parts of this valley where Nundkol Lake is located. In winters the lake gets frozen due to the low temperature and is not accessible during this season. The best time to visit Nundkol Lake is in the months of summer.
People who come here for trekking usually do fishing here, but it requires a license. The weather of this place remains pleasant during summers.
The lake is surrounded by the huge and magnificent mountains of Harmukh. The lake is fed by the melting glaciers of mountains and Gangbal lake. The area near the lake is sheeted with the wild alpine flowers of blue poppy, potentilla, gentian, and Hedysarum.
