Nishat Bagh
:-
The Garden of Bliss
Nishat Bagh
is entitled with many names besides Nishat. People call this, the Garden of Joy, The Garden of Delight, or The Garden of Gladness, for this garden is so beautiful that visitors consider this place as the place of happiness.
Nishat Bagh was built by Asif Khan, for his sister Nur Jahan. This is the
second-largest garden
that is built on the bank of Dal Lake. This beautiful Mughal Garden is surrounded by the hilltops of Zabarwan. The architecture is purely Persian, with the central water channels flowing through the whole garden. The fountains add more beauty to this place.
The Chinar trees are at their perfect place providing shade to a large area under them. The fresh air blowing under these trees help you to feel fresh during the sunny days of summer. The layout of the freshwater streams was based on the Persian model of Gardens but had to be remodeled due to the topographic conditions and the source of water at this site. So, instead of a square layout, a rectangular layout was made for the water channels.
The garden starts with the wide and broad out-pouring of terraces lined with the huge and tall Chinar trees and Cypress trees, that reach up to the hilltops. The whole garden is divided into 12 terraces. Each garden is separated by some steps one over the other. The terraces are lined with the polished stones and beautiful colored flowers.
Among all the streams that flow through the garden, there is one spring called, the Gopi Thirst that provides pure water for drinking. At all the terraces, there are fountains with rectangular polished pools, from where the water flows from one terrace to the other.
Among all the 12 terraces, the second terrace is considered the most beautiful as it has a great abundance of the Persian style and is manicured very well with the out linings of the flowers like Lilies and Pansies. The cab booked under the package by

The best time to visit here is in summer. During the months of summer, the visitors enjoy their great time. The season of Autumn provides an elegant look to the whole garden as the Chinar trees had become red and the grass had turned yellow.
