Aharbal Waterfall is at a distance of 67 km from the summer capital Srinagar. It is a hill station surrounded by the alpine valley of Pine and Fir forests. Around the forests of Aharbal, there are huge peaks of the
Pir Panjal range
that are covered by the snow.
The main attraction of Aharbal Waterfall is the mighty waterfall which is also known as the
Niagara Falls of Kashmir Valley
. The fall is formed of the river Vishu that falls from a height of 25 meters. Also, a narrow gorge of granite boulder is present from where the waterfalls’ height is 7 meters. The water has a great volume. It is very clear and cold. The terraces from where the view of the waterfall is visible are properly fenced to avoid slipping.
Aharbal is also a base camp for the trekkers that start the trekking from this point to reach up to the high altitudes of Kousarnag lake. It takes almost 2 days for trekkers to reach up to the trekking and camping point of Kausarnag lake. Some other activities are also done here that include horse riding, skiing, photography, and water rafting.
The development authorities of Aharbal had made certain developments in this valley like the huts and cafeteria for visitors. There are also some lodges present near this area. If someone wants to stay there for a night, they can stay by booking a lodge room.

How to reach:-
From the city of Srinagar, it will take you almost 2 hours and 15 minutes to reach here that is almost a distance of 67 km.
Aharbal is also accessible from the town of Pulwama. It will take you 1-hour and 10 minutes by cab to reach, that is a distance of 34 km.
If traveling from Jammu, this route will take you almost 7 hours and 40 minutes by road.
