village is situated near the Siachen Glacier. It is near the Nubra valley. This village is famous for its hot water spring. It is the northernmost part of the country.
The valley of hot water spring is surrounded by snow-clad mountains. This place makes its border with the Siachen and is the last place in this region where foreigners can visit.
Panamik in Nubra valley is also famous for the double-humped Bactrian camels and the Pashmina Goats. The double-humped camels are no similar to other camels that are found in other parts of India. Pashmina goats are also found here. The fleece of the Himalayan goats get stuck in the branches of and the bushes of the trees, and then the locals from the surrounding come here and collect it and after going through so many processes the world-famous pashmina shawl gets ready.
The village is also good for shopping for fresh and dry fruits. You can also buy pure pashmina shawls and woolen clothes from here.
In the village of Panamik, there is a 250-year-old gompa, which is known as the Ensa gompa. The gompa belongs to the Buddhists. There are some murals and scriptures inside the gompa.
The best time to visit here is from June to August. During winter, this place is not accessible due to the heavy snow-fall.
